South Island HighSchoolers Retreat

Date: Friday 17 Feb – Sunday 19 Feb 2017

Accommodation venue: Omarama Station Shearers Quarters

The church in Dunedin is hosting a weekend retreat for secondary students in the south island. The retreat begins around 7pm, Friday the 17th of February and ends around 2pm, Sunday the 19th of February 2017.

The teenage years and the highschool life in this day and age is not always easy for our young generation to go on strongly in their Christian journey.  In light of this, the Church in Dunedin with the help of churches from other cities (e.g. Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru, Invercargill etc) would like to host a weekend retreat for our highschoolers. The objective of this highschooler retreat is to provide an environment that assists Christian students to get to know each other and develop mutual support and friendship.

For more information on this retreat, go to its website (http://hsretreat.churchindunedin.org.nz).

There Is The Desperate Need Of The Living Truth

Suppose that on this earth among the human race there had never been such a book as the Bible. If we had not had a Bible in our hands during the past 2,000 years since the Lord Jesus resurrected and ascended to the heavens, everything would be in the air and nothing could be solid. Even the things concerning the Spirit could not be solid. The Spirit depends upon the Word. This is why the Lord said that the words that He spoke to us are spirit (John 6:63)… Without the Word the Spirit might be just “a phantom.” … whenever people contact the holy Word, many times they get the Spirit … A principle has been set up through history that there is the desperate need of the living truth to produce the church, to help the church exist, and to build up the church.
